Anne Street Dog Park, officially Penson Park, is a fully fenced off-leash area on Ann Street in Kallangur. It sits inside a larger community park, so you get a secure enclosure plus a kids' playground, toilets and barbecues right next door, which makes it an easy stop for a family outing rather than just a quick dog walk.

The rules. Dogs must stay on leash in the general park grounds but can run off-leash inside the fenced dog area. Owners need to keep effective voice control even inside the fence, and any dog showing aggressive or unruly behaviour should be leashed and removed straight away. Clean up after your dog; bins and bags are usually stocked.

What's there. The fenced area is a single enclosure with a mix of open run space and shaded spots under trees. There's a water fountain on site, though it's worth bringing your own bowl and water as a backup. The park is lit, so an evening visit after work is realistic, and it's wheelchair accessible.

Getting there. The park is just off Ann Street, with free street parking nearby. It's also within reasonable walking distance of Kallangur railway station if you'd rather leave the car at home.

Max's takegerman shepherd
it's one shared enclosure, not separate small-dog and large-dog yards, so if your dog is small or nervous, aim for a quieter window rather than peak Saturday morning traffic.

Nearby with the dogs. Kallangur and neighbouring North Lakes have a handful of dog-friendly cafes with outdoor seating along Anzac Avenue, and pet-friendly accommodation options are scattered through the wider Moreton Bay area if you're staying over. Confirm pet policies directly before you commit.

Tuesday and Saturday mornings draw the biggest crowds; weekday evenings (Monday, Wednesday, Friday) are the quiet window if you want the run space to yourselves. Morning or late afternoon also gets you the best shade cover on hot days.
