Jamberoo Dog Park

Jamberoo Dog Park is a fenced, off-leash exercise area tucked into the reserve between Gibson Crescent and Churchill Street, right in the village, and it fills a gap Jamberoo didn't have before: a proper secure space to let a dog run without a leash. It's split into two zones by size, and it's open around the clock.

The rules. You need to stay in the park and keep voice control over your dog at all times. Pick up after your dog, bins are provided on-site. Dogs with a history of aggression aren't permitted, and if a dog turns aggressive on the day, leash up and leave straight away. Entry runs through a double-gated airlock system, so use both gates properly rather than propping one open.

Size zones. There are two separate enclosures: a smaller 22 by 22 metre area for small dogs and a larger 35 by 35 metre area for dogs over 15kg. Worth checking which gate you're heading through if you've got a small dog who'd rather not share space with the big runners.

What's there. Full perimeter fencing, a water station with bowls, bench seating for owners, some shaded sections and a maintained turf surface underfoot.

Getting there. The park sits on Gibson Crescent, close to the town centre. On-street parking is available along Gibson Crescent and Churchill Street, but this stretch doubles as overflow parking for events at the nearby Kevin Walsh Oval, so it can fill up fast on game days. There's no train station in Jamberoo itself, Albion Park and Kiama are both a ten to fifteen minute drive and you'll need a car from there.

Nearby with the dogs. The Lodge Jamberoo and its restaurant Lulu's at The Lodge are a short drive away if you want to make a day of it, and Jamberoo Village's cafe strip on Allowrie Street has outdoor tables where dogs on leash are often welcome, worth a quick check with staff first.

Weekday mornings and early afternoons are the quiet window. Weekends get busier, especially when there's football on at Kevin Walsh Oval next door, and that's also when parking on Gibson Crescent gets tight. If the park itself is packed, the surrounding parkland works for an on-leash walk while you wait for space, just leash up again once you're outside the fence.
