Tony Mommson Reserve is a small neighbourhood off-leash area on North Street in Hadfield, a straightforward local spot rather than a destination park. One thing to confirm on arrival is the current signage, because timed off-leash windows have applied here before.

The dog setup

Merri-bek City Council has previously run this as a part-time off-leash area, open before 9am and after 5pm, with the park on-lead outside those hours. Dogs must stay on-lead near the playground on the park's south side, and under effective control at all times even when off-leash. The reserve itself is compact: some seating, bins, and a handful of mature trees for shade. Water is not reliably on site, so bring a bowl. The playground at the south end is a basic, ageing one, and it sits inside an on-leash zone, so keep dogs clear of it.
