Riverside Park Fenced Dog Park

Riverside Park Fenced Dog Park is a fully fenced off-leash enclosure within the much larger Riverside Park on Quiberon Way, Goulburn. It is a flat, open grass run sitting along the Wollondilly Walking Track, which makes it easy to pair a fenced zoomies session with a longer on-lead river walk.

The dog setup

Off-leash applies only inside the fenced compound; in the wider park, around the inclusive playground and along the shared walking tracks, dogs stay on lead. Owners need to stay in the enclosure, keep effective voice control and supervise interactions, and bag dispensers and bins are provided for clean-up.

One practical caveat regulars raise: check the base of the fence line if you have a very small or determined escape artist, as gaps have been reported in spots along the perimeter.

The park around it

The enclosure has a water fountain with a dog bowl, seating and open grass, and the broader 23-hectare park adds an inclusive playground, public toilets between the playground and the dog park, an outdoor gym and about 3km of walking footpaths. There is little natural shade in the dog run and it can get windy on the open ground, which is typical of Goulburn's tablelands exposure.

Max: almost no shade here, and the ground bakes in summer. Test the grass with your hand, carry water, and keep runs to the cooler ends of the day.

Getting there and parking

The dog park is reached off Quiberon Way with free parking adjacent, and the surrounding streets connect in via the Wollondilly Walking Track. It is a short drive from the Goulburn town centre.

When to go

Weekdays and Sunday afternoons are quieter, weekends busier. In the warmer months, go early morning or evening; the open run holds heat through the middle of the day. It suits dogs who like open space to stretch out rather than agility equipment or water play.
