K and Gz is a busy, family-run cafe in the Merino Estate on the eastern edge of Goulburn, and it has one trick no other cafe in town offers: a drive-thru. That makes it a genuinely easy stop when you are travelling with a dog and would rather not tie up outside or leave anyone in the car.

The dog setup. Dogs are welcome at the outdoor and courtyard tables, which is the spot to aim for. Staff have a good reputation for looking after visiting dogs, but bring your own collapsible bowl in case the cafe bowls are already in use. Inside seating is for people only, so plan to sit out.

Good to know. All-day breakfast, lunch and proper coffee, with a wide vegetarian and vegan range and big servings that get a steady mention in reviews. Hours run Monday to Friday 6am to 4pm and Saturday 8am to 3pm, closed Sundays. If the weather is against you, the drive-thru is the fallback.

Getting there. 9 Franklin Street, Goulburn. Free street parking and nearby parking lots, and it is an easy detour off the Hume if you are passing through.

Nearby with the dogs. Victoria Park Fenced Dog Park is about a five-minute drive away, with secure fencing, shade and seating, so you can pair a coffee with a proper off-leash run.
