Ozone Reserve Fenced Dog Park

Ozone Reserve Fenced Dog Park sits at the corner of Plain Street and Riverside Drive in East Perth, close to the Swan River and within sight of the city skyline. Open 24 hours, it is one of only two fenced dog parks in this pocket of the city and the one known for its proper agility setup and river-adjacent views.

The dog setup

Dogs run off-leash only inside the fenced perimeter; on the way in and out, and anywhere in the broader Ozone Reserve, the lead goes on. City of Perth rules expect close supervision and control at all times, cleanup with the bins and bag dispenser provided, and immediate removal of any dog showing aggression or ignoring recall. Under WA law, dogs in public spaces need a registration tag on the collar and microchipping.

The vibe

This is a genuine agility park rather than a plain grass enclosure: jump bars, weave poles, a pyramid ramp, a dog walk and resting podiums, plus a drinking fountain, benches, shade and paved paths. A community basket of tennis balls sometimes turns up, but do not count on it. There is no separate small-dog area, so a nervous dog does better at a quiet mid-morning weekday session than the after-work rush.

Max: no small dog zone here, so pick your timing if your dog is unsure around bigger breeds. Mid-morning on a weekday is a different park to 5pm on a Friday.

Getting there and parking

Free parking is available near the reserve, and the free CAT bus along Adelaide Terrace stops within an easy walk. The Riverside Drive and riverfront paths connect directly, so it is simple to extend the outing into a longer loop.

Make a day of it

If this yard is busy, Victory Terrace Fenced Dog Park is a short walk away as the suburb's other fenced option, and the riverside Elizabeth Quay via Point Fraser walk makes a good on-lead add-on. Cafes along Adelaide Terrace and around Claisebrook Cove are five to ten minutes on foot and generally take well-behaved dogs at outdoor tables; confirm on arrival.
