Brasser Reserve is a quiet, low-key off-leash area at 46 Brasser Avenue, on the industrial edge of Dromana off the Mornington Peninsula Freeway. It is grassy strips wrapped around a central wetland, best thought of as a local spot for daily exercise and sniff-focused walks rather than a day out.

The rules. Dogs are permitted off-leash but must stay under effective voice control. Keep them on-leash near the central wetland to protect the wildlife, and on-leash when entering, leaving and on the surrounding residential streets. Reports on fencing conflict, so treat the perimeter as unfenced and do not rely on it to hold a dog that bolts. Confirm current boundaries against council signage on the day.

What's there. Very little in the way of facilities. There are no water taps and no bins, so bring your own water and waste bags. Parking is limited, usually on-street along Brasser Avenue.

Watch-outs. The area can hold snakes in the warmer months, so keep dogs in the open and out of long grass. The ground near the wetland turns wet and muddy after rain.

Getting there. It is off the Mornington Peninsula Freeway near the Dromana industrial estate, and really only practical by car, as the nearest bus stop is a fair walk away.

Nearby with the dogs. Laneway Espresso on Point Nepean Road has dog-friendly laneway seating for a coffee afterwards.

A rarely crowded local option, calmest early morning or late afternoon. Suits a steady on-lead-then-off wander more than a big open run.
