Cubberla Creek Reserve Dog Off Leash Area sits on Hepworth Street in Chapel Hill, a leafy pocket of a wider 12-hectare reserve built around the creek, with flat paved paths good for laps.
The rules. Off-leash access applies only within the designated zone, dogs must be on lead elsewhere in the reserve, and must stay under effective control and accompanied at all times. Restricted or dangerous dog breeds are not permitted in the off-leash area, and any dog showing aggression needs to be leashed and removed immediately.
What's there. Some sections of the off-leash zone are not fully fenced, so well-behaved dogs with decent recall will get the most out of it. On site there's seating, a shelter or gazebo, waste bins, and water stations for dogs, plus flat paved and gravel paths for a proper walk. A playground sits in the broader reserve if you've got kids in tow.
Getting there. Access is off Moggill Road via Hepworth Street, with street parking available directly along Hepworth Street. Brisbane City Council bus routes run along Moggill Road with a short walk in from the closest stop.
Nearby with the dogs. Cafes with outdoor seating are scattered along Moggill Road through Chapel Hill and into neighbouring Kenmore, and pet-friendly hotel or motel options are easier to find nearby in Kenmore and Indooroopilly.
Sunset draws the best light over the creek but also the biggest crowd, and weekend mornings are busy too. If your dog is easily distracted, an early morning or midweek visit gives you a quieter run. Good for a calm creekside walk rather than a big, high-energy off-leash session, given the partial fencing.
