Cambridge Dog Park

Cambridge Dog Park is a new 1.5-hectare off-lead facility on Cambridge Road, part of the Cambridge Oval precinct, opened in mid-2026 by the Clarence council. It gives the eastern shore a proper fenced space to let dogs run, with a separate quiet zone for older or timid dogs.

The rules. Dogs can run off-lead inside the two fenced areas, accessed through secure air-lock style gates. As soon as you are outside the fence line, especially near the Barilla Rivulet, dogs need to be back on lead.

What's there. The main area has grassy open space, natural play features like logs and rocks, and a walking loop path. The smaller quiet zone suits dogs that find busy off-lead parks stressful. Shade planting is in but still young. As of mid-2026 there are no bins inside the fenced park, so bring your own bags and use the bins near the car park.

Getting there. The park is at 1000 Cambridge Road, an easy detour off the Tasman Highway. Parking is on unsealed ground rather than sealed gravel, so it can turn muddy in wet weather.

Nearby with the dogs. Smith's Pies and Red Square Cafe are both a short drive away for a post-walk feed, and Barilla Holiday Park is close by if you are staying overnight in the area.
