Little Barlow Park Fenced Dog Park

Little Barlow Park Fenced Dog Park is a fully fenced, grassed off-leash area on Scott Street in Bungalow, open around the clock and popular with locals as a reliable, secure spot to let dogs run without a lead.

The rules. Dogs must stay leashed on the way in and out of the fenced area, and need to be under effective voice control once off-leash inside. Clean up after your dog using the bins provided, and fill in any holes your dog digs. Remove your dog immediately if it becomes aggressive or disruptive toward other dogs or people.

What's there. The park is fully fenced with a grassed surface, and there is a drinking fountain for both dogs and owners. Poo bags are often stocked by Cairns Regional Council, though it is worth bringing your own as a backup.

Getting there. The park sits at 43-49 Scott St, close to the Cairns CBD, with street parking generally available nearby. Local Cairns buses run along Mulgrave Road, a short walk from the entrance.

Nearby with the dogs. Blackbird Warehouse, Newell Street Cafe and COFFii Espresso are all a short drive away in Bungalow if you want a coffee before or after a run around.

Early mornings and Sunday mornings tend to be quieter, with weekday afternoons and Friday afternoons the busiest stretches. The grass can turn lush and slippery in the wet season, so it is worth checking underfoot in summer.
