Blackbird Warehouse is a spacious, industrial-style coffee roaster and cafe on Newell Street in Bungalow, a second site for the Cairns brand Coffee NQ, and a relaxed early stop for commuters with a dog in tow.

The dog setup. Dogs are welcome in the open, warehouse-style setting, and the relaxed outdoor and open-air areas suit a dog sitting quietly by your table. Keep your dog leashed given how busy the counter gets, and bring your own water bowl since one isn't guaranteed.

Known for. Specialty coffee roasted on site, a big open industrial atmosphere, and the occasional coffee culture event such as a latte art competition.

Getting there. The cafe is at 1/205 Newell St, with free street parking usually available right outside. It trades weekday mornings only, Monday to Friday 6:30am to 1pm and Saturday 7am to noon, closed Sundays.

Nearby with the dogs. Newell Street Cafe and COFFii Espresso are both close by in Bungalow, and Little Barlow Park Fenced Dog Park is a short drive away for a run before or after coffee.
