Oakdale Park is a fenced, off-leash dog park on Browns Plains Road, open 24 hours a day. A double-gated entry keeps the handover between on-leash and off-leash safe, and mature shade trees make it more comfortable than a bare oval.
The rules. Dogs can run off-leash inside the fenced area but need to be under effective control at all times. Keep your dog on a leash arriving and leaving, and don't crowd the double gate while others are entering or exiting. Pick up after your dog: bag dispensers and bins are provided on-site. If your dog gets overstimulated or snappy with others, it's on you to remove them.
What's there. Secure, high fencing around the whole area, a double-gate entry system to stop dogs slipping out while the gate is open, established trees for shade, and bench seating for owners.
Getting there. The park is at 220 Browns Plains Road, right off the main road, with parking generally available on-site or in the adjacent residential streets. It's also close to several bus routes along Browns Plains Road and within walking distance of Browns Plains Bus Station, so it's an easy stop without a car.
Watch-outs. The ground can turn muddy after heavy rain, so check conditions before you go if it's been wet. In summer, the open sections get hot fast even with the shaded trees, so avoid the middle of the day and watch your dog's paws on the fence line and gate area.

Weekend mornings and weekday evenings after 5pm are the busiest, when everyone's walking their dogs after work. Mid-morning to early afternoon is quieter and a better bet for a nervous or reactive dog, though it's also the hottest part of the day in summer, so time it for shoulder hours if you can.
