Broadview Fenced Dog Park

Broadview Fenced Dog Park sits inside the Broadview Sports and Recreation Precinct (Yarnta Tutu Yarta) at 46 McInnes Avenue in Adelaide's north, a recently upgraded, fully fenced off-leash area that is open around the clock under City of Prospect rules.

The dog setup

Inside the fenced enclosure dogs are off-leash at any time, with a double-gate entry for safe off-lead exits, a water point, seating and a well-maintained lawn, plus agility gear in the form of tunnels, logs and rocks. Free waste bags are provided on site. The important boundary to know: the surrounding Broadview Oval is a separate space, off-leash only between 5am and 8am and 5pm and 9pm, and on a lead of up to two metres at other times. Dogs also stay leashed and at least five metres from the playground equipment.

Max: the fenced park is small, good for a quick leg-stretch or a smaller dog, but if yours needs a proper run, time your visit to the oval's off-leash windows instead.

Worth knowing

Sunday mornings, Sunday afternoons and Wednesday evenings are the busiest slots, while weeknights and weekday mid-mornings stay quiet. The lawn drains reasonably well after rain, but some patches still turn muddy, so a towel in the car is worth it after wet weather. The wider precinct has a new playground, public restrooms, barbecues and a soccer club kiosk that opens periodically.

Getting there and parking

Access is via McInnes Avenue, well connected to Galway Avenue and the A17, with ample on-site parking. If you are not driving, bus stops on Hampstead Road and Galway Avenue serve the area.

While you're out there

That Coffee Place is close by on Regency Road for a coffee stop with the dog afterwards, and William Lawson Park Dog Park down in Prospect is the alternative fenced yard if you want a change of scene.
