Davenport Park

Davenport Park at 18 Bonogin Road East sits at the foot of a green valley, with open fields, a signed off-leash zone and picnic shelters in the Gold Coast hinterland.

Leads and the off-leash zone

The City of Gold Coast allows dogs on lead in the general park areas and off lead in the signed exercise zone. Keep dogs away from the playground equipment.

Dogs are banned on the boardwalk into the neighbouring Bonogin Conservation Area, so the boardwalk is not part of this outing.

What's there

A drinking fountain, sheltered picnic tables, barbecues and toilets are on site, with street-side parking off Bonogin Road East. Mature trees shade parts of the park, but the fields are open.

Make a day of it

The Hunted Cafe is the local coffee stop, and Reedy Creek Fenced Dog Park is close if you want a fenced run.

Mornings are best before the valley floor warms up. It suits social dogs with a solid recall.
