Six and Seven

Six and Seven is the coffee anchor of the Westleigh Village shopping strip, tucked into Shop 16 at 4-8 Eucalyptus Drive with a balcony entrance. It is a family-run, breakfast-first cafe with a strong local following, and dogs are welcome at the outdoor seating that fronts the village.

The dog setup

Dogs can join you at the outdoor tables and the balcony area of the village, on lead, while the indoor room is for people. The strip setting works well for dogs because there is room to settle and regular foot traffic of fellow dog walkers. Bring your own water bowl to be safe, though the team is known locally for being accommodating with four-legged guests.

Worth knowing

The kitchen does proper brunch: a loaded Big Breakfast with bacon, eggs your way, chorizo, hash browns, mushrooms, tomato, avocado and sourdough, three-cheese omelettes, chilli scrambles and fresh pastries and croissants daily. On the drinks side the barista coffee is backed by house-made lemon iced tea, white chocolate frappes and specialty chai. Hours are 6:30am to 3pm Tuesday to Saturday and 7am to 3pm Sunday, with Monday closed, so the weekend is the main event.

Getting there and parking

The village sits on Eucalyptus Drive in Westleigh, with free parking directly in front of the shops and level access from the car park to the outdoor tables. It is a small neighbourhood centre, so parking is rarely a problem even on weekend mornings.

Close by with the dogs

Ruddock Park Fenced Dog Park is essentially on the same block, with its own fenced off-leash enclosure among the playground and tennis courts. Greenway Park Fenced Dog Park at Cherrybrook adds double gates, agility equipment and a small dog zone a short drive south, and Thornleigh Dog Park is minutes away the other way. Hornsby Shire's bushland tracks allow dogs on lead, so pair brunch with a reserve walk on the same morning.
