Favours Coffee

Favours Coffee runs seven days a week from 5am to 5pm at 109 Barolin Street, Walkervale, a couple of minutes south of the Bundaberg CBD. The 5am open is the point here: it lines up with the morning walk rather than trailing it, and leashed dogs are welcome at the outdoor seating while you take on what they call actually great coffee.

The dog setup

Friendly, leashed dogs join you at the alfresco and street-side tables out front. Water bowls are usually available outdoors and the staff are used to dogs about the place, but the tables sit close to passing foot traffic on Barolin Street, so keep your dog positioned away from the path if they are unsure about strangers. Service dogs are welcome inside; all other dogs stay in the outdoor area.

Worth knowing

This is a serious coffee operation as much as a cafe: the signature Big Dog Blend and Edelweiss Blend are roasted and sold over the counter alongside Lil Red and the Hummingbird bundle, and there are iced drinks, gluten-free treats and branded merch if you want the hoodie. An app ordering system and a loyalty program keep the regulars moving quickly through the early-morning rush.

Getting there and parking

On-street parking runs along Barolin Street directly out front, with the surrounding residential streets of Walkervale an easy fallback when the morning coffee queue is deep.

For a proper off-lead run before or after, the Daph Geddes Park Fenced Dog Park in Bundaberg East is a short drive east. Other dog-friendly feeds in town include River Cruz Cafe on the Burnett River, Grindstone Coffee House and Cafe 1928 in Bundaberg Central.
