Kaffe Co

Kaffe Co is a small community cafe at Shop 10, 1 Commercial Street, inside the HomeCo Coomera City Centre next to Coles, and it has a loyal local following for one simple reason: nearly everything on the plate is made in-house. It is a practical stop rather than a destination, best used as the coffee leg of a morning that includes one of Upper Coomera's fenced dog parks.

The dog setup

Dogs are generally welcome at the outdoor seating in the centre's open-air precinct, a couple of steps off the pedestrian walkway. Policies at shopping-centre cafes can shift, so confirm with staff when you arrive rather than assuming. Carry your own water bowl; the cafe keeps things simple and does not run a dog menu. Because the precinct is a working shopping centre with prams and trolleys passing, this suits an easygoing dog better than a sound-sensitive one.

The food

The in-house cooking shows up in the plates people reorder: peach French toast, corn fritters, poached eggs on toast, and thick shakes that get their own mentions in reviews. Coffee is treated seriously for a centre cafe, and there is a reasonable spread of vegetarian and lighter options. Hours are Monday and Wednesday to Saturday 7am to 1:45pm, Sunday 7:30am to noon, closed Tuesdays.

Getting there and parking

The centre is on Commercial Street in Upper Coomera with extensive free parking right across the HomeCo complex, so the walk in with a dog is short. Reach the cafe from the Coles end of the centre.

Close by with the dogs

For the run before breakfast, the Highland Reserve Park fenced dog park on Rose Valley Drive is the local favourite, and the smaller, quieter Upper Coomera #2 fenced park on Gannon Way suits dogs who prefer space without crowds. A few minutes north, the Damian Leeding Memorial Park fenced dog park in Oxenford adds agility obstacles and a lakeside walk.
