Soley's On The Creek

Soley's On The Creek is the kiosk inside Boambee Creek Reserve at 20 Sawtell Road, Toormina, sitting right by the playground and the shaded creek bank where local families swim. This is a grab-a-burger-and-sit-by-the-water stop rather than a sit-down cafe, and the whole reserve setting is built for it: picnic tables, BBQs, trees for shade and a creek for the dog to wade in afterwards.

The dog setup

Seating at the kiosk is entirely outdoors under the trees, and leashed dogs are welcome at the tables and throughout the reserve. Keep a firm hold near the playground and the fenced-off flora sections, where kids and foot traffic are constant. The creek shallows are the real draw for dogs: a splash, a shake, then a slow dry-off at a creek-side table while you eat. Ask at the kiosk window if you need a water bowl.

The menu

It is classic takeaway done well: burgers, fish and chips, breakfast rolls, milkshakes and proper coffee, plus a cakery side that turns out celebration cakes and a solid counter selection of baked goods. Prices stay reasonable, and the staff have a friendly, easygoing reputation. Hours run 8am to 2:30pm Tuesday to Friday and 8am to 4pm on weekends, with Mondays closed.

Getting there and parking

The reserve sits off Sawtell Road between Toormina and Sawtell, with parking in the reserve car park. Weekends fill quickly with families using the playground and BBQs, so mid-morning on a weekday is the quiet window if you want your pick of picnic tables.

While you're out there

The dog-friendly circuit writes itself: Boambee dog lead creek runs along the water for an on-lead walk, and the off-lead option is the Boambee off dog lead beach across the water.
