Artisti Coffee Roasters is a specialty roastery and espresso bar in Toormina on the Coffs Coast, the kind of place coffee people drive out of their way for. Beans are roasted on-site weekly, the retail wall runs from single origins to brew gear, and there is an alfresco area out front where dogs are welcome on a lead.

The dog setup

Dogs are fine on a lead at the outdoor alfresco tables; ask staff for a water bowl if your dog needs one. Indoors is the working roastery and equipment showroom rather than a general dining room, so keep dogs to the outside tables. The setting is an industrial estate, meaning parking is close and the footpath is quiet, which suits a dog that does not love traffic.

Worth knowing

This is an espresso bar, not a full-kitchen cafe: expect properly made coffee from freshly roasted beans, batch brew and retail bags to take home, rather than a big menu. The showroom carries a serious range of home and commercial gear from brands like La Marzocco and Rocket, and staff run brew demos and barista courses, so it doubles as a coffee-lesson stop. Open Monday to Friday from 6:30am, closed weekends, with Tuesdays historically wrapping up earlier than the rest of the week, so check before a late-afternoon run.

Getting there and parking

The roastery is at Unit 3/11 Craft Close, Toormina NSW 2452, in the Hi Tech Industrial Estate about 10 minutes south of Coffs Harbour and 5 minutes from Sawtell, with free on-site parking right at the door.

Close by with the dogs

Soley's On The Creek at Boambee Creek Reserve is the natural dog walk pairing, and the Boambee Creek lead area at Sawtell is a short drive for a swim-and-walk after coffee. For an evening option, Toormina Hotel welcomes dogs in its outdoor beer garden.
