Switch & Sip Cafe

Switch & Sip Cafe in Templestowe Village was known as a family friendly brunch spot with a kids' play area and an outdoor deck where dogs were welcome. That walk-in format has changed: the business now operates mainly as Switch & Sip Events, running private parties, catering, balloon styling and workshops, and brunch is offered by table booking rather than as an open daily service.

Worth knowing

If you were planning a casual dog friendly brunch here, check with the venue first. The 2-6 Swilk Street site still hosts bookings and functions, but there is no confirmed walk-in outdoor seating for dogs at the moment, so we cannot recommend it as a regular cafe stop until that changes. For a proper dog outing nearby, the off leash areas around Templestowe and Doncaster are the reliable part of this trip.

The Serpells Community Reserve dog off leash area is the local option in Templestowe, while Ruffey Lake Park in Doncaster has dedicated off leash zones with plenty of room to run. For a river walk, the Warrandyte River Reserve dog off leash area follows the Yarra and gives dogs a chance to cool off in the shallows.
