South Freo Continental

South Freo Continental is a deli-style Italian on the South Terrace strip at 318 South Terrace, doing wood-fired pizza, a deli counter of Italian goods and gelato with the outdoor tables right out on one of South Fremantle's busiest cafe stretches. It opens from 6:30am most days, which makes it one of the few dog-friendly breakfast-to-pizza options on the strip.

The dog setup

Dogs are welcome at the outdoor seating along the front on South Terrace; indoors is people only. Keep dogs leashed and parked clear of the footpath flow, which gets genuinely busy through the morning, and bring a portable water bowl since one is not guaranteed on the tables.

The vibe

It is a proper Italian grocer-cafe hybrid: grab pasta and pantry goods inside, then settle on the footpath with coffee, bruschetta or a wood-fired slice. Friday nights run late to 9pm, the only dinner service of the week, while other days wind up between 3pm and 4pm, so plan the pizza visit for Friday.

Getting there

Street parking runs along South Terrace and the side streets such as Hope and Nelson, and the whole strip is walkable if you are already in South Fremantle. Weekday mornings are the calmest time to sit out with a dog.
