Stanley's Cafe / Restaurant

Stanley's is a long-running cafe and restaurant at 48 High Street in central Shepparton, doing all-day breakfast, lunch, homemade cakes and Albanian dishes you will not find elsewhere in town. For dog owners the draw is the covered laneway alongside the building, a sheltered spot to settle with your dog out of the sun.

The dog setup

Dogs are welcome in the outdoor areas, and the covered laneway is the comfortable choice, shaded and sheltered through the day. It runs as table service in that space, so tuck your dog beside you and out of the walkway rather than in the flow of foot traffic. Bring your own water bowl; treats are not a given. The laneway setup suits a settled dog that will lie down and stay put.

Worth knowing

The kitchen's regulars point to the egg and bacon rolls, poached eggs on sourdough and eggs benedict, alongside the Albanian specials that give the menu its point of difference, and service gets consistent praise for its warmth. Hours run 7am to 2:30pm Monday to Saturday with the kitchen winding down around 2pm, and the cafe closes Sundays, so make it a morning or early-lunch plan.

Getting there and parking

High Street is a main central road in Shepparton, with free street parking usually available nearby. Saturday mornings are the busy stretch as the town gets moving, so earlier is easier for a laneway table.

Close by with the dogs
