50’s Diner Hervey Bay

50's Diner is a nostalgic, rock-and-roll-themed diner at 352A Esplanade in Scarness, sitting directly opposite the beachfront and open from 6:30am for an early breakfast or lunch after a beach walk.

The dog setup. Dogs are welcome at the outdoor tables on the footpath out front, which are covered for shade. The area is not indoors. Staff are known to bring out a water bowl on request, so ask when you order.

Good to know. Expect classic diner fare, burgers, hot dogs, loaded fries and thickshakes, with generous portions and consistently friendly service. The 1950s theme and music are the point as much as the food.

Getting there. Free street parking runs along the Esplanade, though it fills on weekends and peak times. Side streets near Scarness Park usually have space when the strip is busy.

Nearby with the dogs. Scarness Beach and the paved Esplanade walking path are right across the road, and more dog-friendly cafes sit within a short walk along the strip.
