Miss Sprinkles Gelato

Miss Sprinkles Gelato is a bright Italian gelato shop on Landsborough Avenue, directly opposite Scarborough Beach on the Redcliffe Peninsula. It is the natural pull-up for beach walkers, and unusually for a gelato counter, the dog does not have to miss out: the shop serves a dog gelato of its own.

The dog setup

Dogs are welcome at the outdoor and footpath seating, on-leash and under control, which is where you will want to be anyway with the beach across the road. The indoor shop is for people only. Staff here have a friendly reputation with the dog-walking crowd, water bowls are often set out, and the dog gelato usually comes with a small extra treat. It suits dogs that are comfortable near a busy footpath, because the seaside strip gets steady foot traffic through the afternoon and evening.

The vibe

Handmade Italian gelato is the whole point, with a long flavour list that takes in dairy-free and gluten-free options, plus shakes, churros and a lolly shelf for the kids. Cyclists and dog walkers roll past all day, and it is open 7am to 9pm daily, which makes it both a morning coffee stop and a post-dinner stroll destination.

The shop sits on the beachside strip at Landsborough Avenue, Scarborough. Free street parking runs along the avenue with more free off-street parking nearby, and the entrance is wheelchair accessible.

Close by with the dogs

Scarborough Beach and the foreshore path sit directly across the road for an on-leash walk before or after, and the Queens Beach North off-leash area is a short drive north for a proper run on the sand. For a more substantial meal with the dog, Bazil&Co. is up the same strip, and Peasholm Dog Beach is another sand option nearby.
