Good Company

Good Company is a corner cafe on Thurecht Parade near the Scarborough Marina, doing specialty coffee and brunch a short walk from the waterfront. Locals rate it one of the friendliest spots on the Redcliffe peninsula to bring a dog, and the seating options make that easy to back up.

The dog setup

The seating is flexible: covered outdoor tables plus sunny spots on the grass, all dog-friendly and on-leash. Water bowls are usually on hand and the staff are known for making a fuss of visiting dogs. Some reports say dogs are tolerated inside as well, but the outdoor and grass tables are the safe bet, and the covered area is the pick on a wet or hot day. The grass strip is handy for dogs that do not settle straight onto a cafe floor.

Worth knowing

The coffee and the brunch menu carry the reputation here: chilli scrambled eggs, corn fritters, banana hotcakes, bagels, almond croissants and a peanut butter smoothie are the regular orders. Weekend mornings get busy, so expect a short wait for a table, and weekday mornings are the calmest window if your dog is still learning cafe manners.

The cafe sits on Thurecht Parade, walkable from the marina and foreshore, with free on-street parking and a nearby lot that both fill on weekend mornings. The foreshore paths make an easy on-leash loop before or after, the off-lead sand at Queens Beach North dog beach is close for a proper run, and for the next stop Bazil&Co. and Verandah Cafe and Home are the other dog-friendly options on the peninsula.
