Full Turn Kitchen Bar

Full Turn Kitchen Bar is an all-day local on Bay Road in Sandringham, working out of the ground floor of the Sandy Hill apartment complex. It covers breakfast through dinner, which makes it rarer than the average bayside cafe: a place where you can bring the dog for an early coffee and end up staying through to a late lunch while the Bay Road strip hums along outside.

The dog setup

Dogs are welcome at the outdoor tables on a lead, and staff will usually bring a water bowl out. The catch worth planning around: if the outside tables are taken, the dog cannot move inside with you, so booking an outdoor table beats chancing it on a busy weekend morning. The forecourt setting is calm enough for a settled dog, with the apartment complex shielding it from the worst of the Bay Road traffic.

Worth knowing

The menu runs across the day, from chilli scramble and eggs benedict to salt and pepper squid and seafood linguine later on, and mornings are the busiest stretch. Hours run 7am to 4pm daily, so the dinner side is more menu than routine. The venue is wheelchair accessible and coffee is treated seriously, with a full wine list for anyone lingering past lunch.

The address is 222 Bay Road, Sandringham, with limited free parking out front and around the complex plus street parking along Bay Road. Sandringham station is walkable if you would rather arrive on foot with the dog.

Sandringham Harbour Dog Beach is the natural warm-up or cool-down, and Merindah Park covers an off-lead run inland. The Sandringham to Brighton Bay walk passes close by, and The Bay Road Cafe is the same-strip fallback when Full Turn's outdoor tables are gone.
