Breathe Easy Cafe

Breathe Easy Cafe is a busy breakfast-and-brunch spot at 3/455 Anzac Avenue in Rothwell, opposite Bunnings, and it has built a genuine reputation as one of the most dog-welcoming cafes on the Redcliffe peninsula. Dogs are part of the regular scene here, not an afterthought, and the service reputation backs it up.

The dog setup

Dogs are welcome in the outdoor seating and courtyard area, on lead; the indoor dining and food-prep space stays people only under food safety rules. The cafe keeps dog bowls behind the counter and hands out treats on request, which is a step past the usual water-bowl standard. Ask staff for a table away from the Anzac Avenue side if your dog is traffic sensitive.

The vibe and the menu

It opens 6:30am to 2pm weekdays, 7am to midday Saturdays, and closes Sundays, with the kitchen winding up half an hour before close. Coffee is Cleanskin Coffee Co and the menu is proper cafe food: the bacon and egg roll is the order locals run on, alongside smashed avo, the roast pork and gravy roll, cheese scones and caramel slice, with gluten-free and vegetarian options covered. Live music and open mic nights are part of the calendar, and it has picked up a Best Northside Cafe award along the way.

Getting there and parking

Street parking runs along Anzac Avenue with the Rothwell train station nearby. For a dog stop nearby, the Clontarf Redcliffe dog park and the fenced run at Kroll Gardens are both close, and PUK Espresso is another dog-friendly cafe on the way toward the bay.
