TNB Cafe

TNB Cafe, short for The Naked Barista, is a modern brunch spot at 1 Rooty Hill Road South in Rooty Hill, a short walk from the railway station. It started as a lockdown hobby for an IT specialist and opened in 2022, and it now draws a crowd for Campos coffee and a Filipino-inspired fusion brunch menu. Dogs are welcome at the outdoor and alfresco tables out front.

The dog setup

Dogs sit with you in the outdoor seating area, where there is a water station. Staff are known to bring out a puppuccino for well-behaved dogs, but treat that as a nice extra rather than a promise, and carry a water bowl on hot days. Keep your dog leashed and close to the table.

The menu leans into Filipino flavours: the longganisa brekky burger, the slow-cooked pork belly scramble on Sonoma sourdough, chicken sisig pasta and a brisket omelette with in-house chilli oil. Lighter picks include The Rooty Bowl, the TNB egg burger and a salmon bagel, with cinnamon scrolls in the cabinet. There is live music some days, and the room has a strong community feel.

Getting there and parking

The cafe sits in a suburban shop strip across from Rooty Hill station on the T1 Western Line, so it is an easy walk from the platform. Street parking is available out front and on side streets, though it tightens up during the weekend brunch rush. Doors open from 6am on weekdays and 7am on weekends, serving until mid afternoon.

May Cowpe Reserve Dog Park is the local off-leash option in the same suburb. A few minutes west, Bungarribee Park Fenced Dog Park in Doonside is a big fenced run, and Harvey's Social at Arndell Park sits right beside the Warrigal Dog Run if you want a second coffee stop after play.

Pepsi: Bag the outdoor table near the footpath. It is the easiest spot to settle in without feeling squeezed between other diners.
