La Loca Cafe

La Loca Cafe is a small neighbourhood coffee spot at 29 Crown Road, Queenscliff, a short stroll from both Queenscliff Beach and Freshwater Beach, and dogs are welcome at the footpath tables out front. It is a local's cafe rather than a tourist stop, which makes it an easy, low-key coffee break on the northern beaches beachfront walk.

This is a breakfast and brunch spot rather than a full-menu restaurant, so expect a short, simple menu: toasted sandwiches and smashed avocado get the regulars' nods, and the carrot cake and chai latte come up often too. It trades on good coffee and a relaxed, local feel away from the busier strips further along the coast. Hours run Tuesday to Friday from 6:30am to 2pm, Saturday from 7am and Sunday from 6am, with Mondays closed, and small cafes like this can shift days seasonally, so check before you head over.

Getting there and parking

Street parking on Crown Road is free but limited and fills up on weekend mornings. If you are already walking the beachfront from Queenscliff or Freshwater, treat La Loca as an easy add-on stop rather than a destination to drive to. The off-lead space at Manly Lagoon Dog Park is close by for a proper run, and the coastal route of the Shelly Beach via Queenscliff Beach walk passes within reach for a pre or post coffee leg stretch.
