Quick Brown Fox Eatery

Quick Brown Fox Eatery operates from a restored 1840s sandstone cottage at 22 Union Street, Pyrmont, a few blocks back from the water and an easy walk from Pyrmont Bridge and Darling Harbour. It opens 7am to 3pm every day and welcomes well-behaved dogs on leads across its alfresco terrace and outdoor courtyard, which makes it one of the suburb's most reliable breakfast stops for dog walkers.

The dog setup

Dogs belong in the outdoor terrace and courtyard seating, and there is alleyway table space too, all on lead. Walk-ins are the norm and the front tables are first-come-first-served, so arrive early on weekends for the best shot at a spot. Staff are generally accommodating with a water bowl on request, but bring your own as a backup on quiet days.

Worth knowing

The kitchen has a proper creative streak: the Waffle Benedict, an XO congee built on Koshihikari rice, lemon ricotta hotcakes and a truffle mushroom toastie sit alongside the usual eggs-and-avo standards, and the venue is licensed with coffee, cold brews, craft beer and organic wines. It is a sit-and-watch-Murray-Street-go-by kind of place rather than a grab-and-go counter.

Getting there and parking

Metered street parking covers Union Street and the surrounding blocks, and the light rail to Pyrmont Bay is an easy walk. The Darling Harbour foreshore path and the Pyrmont waterfront both connect on foot for an on-leash loop after breakfast.
