The Kozy Corner cafe Hervey Bay

The Kozy Corner is a small Asian-fusion cafe on Main Street in Pialba, listing itself as pet-friendly with dogs welcome at the outdoor seating out front. It is an easy coffee-and-brunch stop in the Hervey Bay CBD, a couple of blocks back from the Esplanade.

The dog setup

Dogs go at the outdoor tables, not inside, and the street-side setup is tight enough that a dog settling under the chair works fine. Water is generally on hand, but pack your own bowl to be safe. It is a relaxed, casual room, and the staff have a reputation for being friendly, which extends to the four-legged customers on the footpath.

The vibe

The kitchen leans Taiwanese and Japanese, which makes it one of the more interesting breakfast menus in the bay: bao, banh mi, poached eggs and mushroom toast on the morning side, plus matcha drinks including a strawberry iced matcha and proper flat whites. House-made touches like chilli jam and gluten-free Nama chocolate brownies give it a kitchen-garden feel rather than a franchise one. It opens early, roughly 7am, and closes mid afternoon around 2:30pm, so it is a breakfast and lunch stop rather than dinner.

Pepsi: the banh mi travels well. Grab one to go and eat it on the foreshore with your dog off duty.

Getting there and parking

The cafe is at Shop 1, 55-59 Main Street, Pialba, with street parking standard along that stretch and council car parks within a block. The Esplanade and the beach are a short walk east if you want to turn brunch into a longer outing.

While you're out there

The Pialba Foreshore off-leash beach is the natural follow-up, with time-window rules worth checking before you go.
