Curio Press Espresso Bar

The setup. Curio Press is a casual lakeside espresso bar on Wendouree Drive, right beside heritage-listed Blundells Cottage on the Lake Burley Griffin shore. It is a popular pit-stop for walkers, cyclists and the local dog crowd, with a dog-friendly outdoor deck and grassy surrounds.

Dog access. Dogs are welcome on the outdoor deck and seating, not inside where the food is prepped. Water bowls are often out for four-legged visitors, but bring your own to be sure on a warm day.

Known for. Nutella and cinnamon scrolls, toasted sandwiches and reliably good coffee, all with a picturesque stretch of the lake in front of you. It works best as the coffee half of a morning walk.

Getting there. Wendouree Drive, Parkes, reached via Parkes Way or Constitution Avenue. Free parking is nearby and the shared cycle and walking paths run right past, with bike racks if you ride in.

Nearby with the dogs. The foreshore path is a few steps away for a scenic on-lead walk, Commonwealth Park is a short stroll west, and the National Library lawns and Rond Terrace sit close by for open grass.

Best early on weekends before the parking and deck fill. Good for social dogs happy in a busy lakeside spot.
