What visitors mention
The setup. Margot is an alfresco espresso and wine bar at the West Kiosk on Queen Elizabeth Terrace, right on the Lake Burley Griffin foreshore. The whole thing is outdoor, a sun-drenched terrace under trees and umbrellas, so your dog settles beside the table with no indoor-versus-outside question to sort out.
Dog access. Seating is all on the open terrace and dogs are welcome throughout it. Keep yours on-lead and tucked in by your chair. There is no set water station, so bring a collapsible bowl, especially on warm mornings.
Known for. Seven Miles coffee, curated cheese boards, pastries and croissants, plus wine and craft beer if you land in the afternoon. The draw is the position: a direct line of sight across the lake and an easy people-and-dog-watching spot on the Bridge to Bridge path.
Getting there. Queen Elizabeth Terrace, Parkes. Public parking sits close by along the terrace and fills on sunny weekends, so aim early. The lakeside shared path runs right past, so many walk or ride in.
Nearby with the dogs. The foreshore out front is made for a long on-lead lap, and the National Gallery Sculpture Garden is a short scenic stroll away.
Best as a morning coffee stop mid-walk. Good for social dogs who like a busy, open terrace.
