The dog setup
Dogs are welcome across the outdoor deck and the surrounding lawns, where you can set up at a table or on a picnic rug. The enclosed indoor dining areas are for assistance animals only. Keep your dog on a lead and tucked in beside you so the paths stay clear for staff and foot traffic, and pick a spot at the edge of the lawn on busy days. Bring a collapsible bowl, as there is no fixed water station.
The menu
Mornings are about good coffee, breakfast paninis and pastries, and the day builds toward light, crispy wood-fired pizzas, the flame-baked panuozzo and antipasto. On Friday and Saturday evenings it shifts into a garden bar with sunset drinks over the rose gardens. Doors open at 7am daily, trading to 3pm most days and 9pm on Friday and Saturday.
Getting there and parking
The precinct is central in the National Triangle. Free street and precinct parking sit around King George Terrace and near the Visitors Centre off Barrine Drive, and both fill fast on sunny weekends and during park festivals, so arrive early. The lake shared paths reach the door, so walking in with the dog is simple.
Close by with the dogs
The Lake Burley Griffin path runs right alongside for a flat lakeside walk and Commonwealth Park gives open grass a few steps away. For more dog-friendly stops in the same pocket, Lager House by Capital Brewing Co is close by, and Margot Espresso Bar or Walter Cafe cover the morning coffee rounds.
