Cafe Twelve91 sits underneath the Pacific Surf Life Saving Club, absolute beachfront on the Gold Coast Highway, with ocean views from the tables. It is a popular post-walk stop for locals and dog walkers.

The dog setup. Dogs are welcome in the downstairs outdoor alfresco garden area, casual tables on the grass and paving shaded by fixed umbrellas. Water bowls are often out and the cafe is used to dogs. Keep your dog on lead and settled under the table so staff have clear walkways.

Good to know. Breakfast is the strength: bacon and egg rolls, homemade scones, Eggs Benny and the Eggs NOT Benny with lemon-preserve hollandaise, plus barista coffee, smoothies and housemade watermelon slushies. It opens early and the kitchen closes around midday, so come for breakfast or an early lunch.

Getting there. At 1291 Gold Coast Hwy, Palm Beach. Street parking on the highway and nearby residential streets is limited; there is a public car park just north at Jefferson Lane, and the beachfront path runs right to the door.

Nearby with the dogs. The northern end of Palm Beach near Jefferson Lane is the off-leash zone for a run, and the oceanfront walkway is ideal for a leashed walk on either side of coffee.
