Some Folk Coffee

Some Folk Coffee is a family-run roastery and specialty coffee shop at Unit 11/39 Prosperity Drive, in the commercial pocket of Ocean Grove off the Grubb Road side. The owners roast their own beans, and the small shop has built a strong local following on the strength of its espresso, batch brews and rotating single origins. Hours run 6am to 2pm weekdays, 7am to 2pm Saturdays and 8am to midday Sundays.

The dog setup

Dogs are welcome at the outdoor and footpath seating directly in front of the cafe, and there is usually easy parking right at the door. The seating area is fairly intimate, so it suits a settled, well-socialised dog sitting quietly beside your table. Water bowls are usually out front, but pack a travel bowl on busy mornings. Indoors is reserved for people, so plan your stop as an outside one.

Getting there and parking

The shop sits in a low-rise commercial estate, with ample free off-street and kerbside parking usually available right in front. It is a driving or cycling stop rather than a strip-shop walk-up.

Close by with the dogs

Dawn Cafe on the Ocean Grove foreshore and Gather are other dog-friendly stops in town. Kingston Park, a short drive away, allows dogs off-leash through most of the reserve apart from the playground area under City of Greater Geelong rules, and the Ocean Grove to Barwon Heads coastal trail makes a longer on-lead outing. Beach access along the Barwon Coast varies by signage, so check the markers at your ramp before letting your dog off.
