BaseCamp

BaseCamp is a specialty coffee cafe at Shop 10/4 Cook Street in North Lakes, tucked into the Cook Street industrial pocket. It is the flagship cafe for Latitude Coffee Roasters and is explicitly pet-friendly, so dogs are part of the regular crowd rather than an occasional novelty. The room runs on an upbeat, regulars-first rhythm.

The dog setup

Dogs are welcome in the undercover and footpath seating out front, with enough space to settle a dog beside the table. Water bowls are put out for canine visitors, and the relaxed industrial setting makes it an easy place to park a dog mid-walk without anyone fussing.

Worth knowing

The coffee is the point: house-roasted Latitude beans brewed by people who care, with the flat white a house standard and the strawberry matcha a social-media favourite. Food is scratch-made, led by in-house croissants, loaded toasties and weekend brekkie burgers, with rotating cabinet treats beside a modern Australian brunch menu. It closes early, around 12.30pm daily, opening 6am on weekdays and 7am on weekends, so make it a breakfast or mid-morning visit rather than an afternoon one.

Getting there and parking

There is plenty of free parking directly out front in the industrial complex, which makes it an easy car stop, and the quiet surrounding streets suit a short on-lead leg-stretch before you head home.

Close by with the dogs

The fully fenced Gardenia Dog Park is a few minutes away, which makes coffee here pair naturally with an off-lead run either side. For other dog-friendly coffee in the suburb, Caffeine Trader and The Fort Specialty Coffee are both nearby.
