Corner Lane Espresso

Corner Lane Espresso is a laneway espresso bar just off the New Lambton village hub, pouring the house blend from Laneways Coffee Roasters. It is a straightforward coffee stop rather than a destination, and a dependable one when you are walking the neighbourhood with a lead in hand: outdoor seating out front, fast service, and a morning crowd of regulars who mostly arrive on foot.

The dog setup

Dogs are welcome at the outdoor laneway seating, and staff have a reputation for making a fuss over them. Indoor access is not on offer, which is standard for NSW food premises. The laneway is a working footpath, so keep your dog on a short lead close to the table rather than letting the lead span the walkway. No water bowl or treats are confirmed as standard, so bring your own bowl and ask staff on the day.

Pepsi: Outdoor tables only, and that suits me. I park under the chair, the sausage rolls arrive fast, nobody steps over me.

Worth knowing

The coffee is the draw, and the cabinet does strong business in sausage rolls, almond croissants and toasties, with tarts and sweets for the afternoon shift. Weekdays run from 6:30am to 2pm, Saturdays from 7am to midday and Sundays from 8am, so the weekend window is a short one.

Getting there and parking

The cafe sits at Shop 1, 15 Alma Road, New Lambton, off the main strip. Street parking is available on Alma Road and the surrounding side streets, though it fills during the breakfast rush, which is another reason arriving on foot with the dog works well.

Close by with the dogs

Blackbutt Reserve is a short drive away for a proper stretch of the legs, though dogs stay on leash inside the reserve. For an off-lead run, the Adamstown Dog Off-Leash Area is nearby, and Rosie and Shell around the corner is another New Lambton cafe that takes dogs at the outdoor tables.
