A long-standing local favourite on Dalley Street in Mullumbimby, set back from the main-street bustle with a rustic courtyard out the back. It is one of the more dog-welcoming cafes in town, with a shaded outdoor area that suits a longer sit.

The dog setup. Dogs are welcome in the outdoor courtyard, a cosy, shaded spot that is the comfortable choice for a dog. Staff are known to help out with water, but bring your own bowl to be sure. Keep your dog on a lead.

Good to know. Regularly praised for its coffee and chai, with a fresh, local, largely organic menu leaning vegan and vegetarian - the shakshuka gets repeat mentions - and generous portions. Open Monday to Friday and Saturday mornings, closed Sundays.

Getting there. Free street parking runs along Dalley Street and nearby side streets. The central location makes it an easy stop before or after a walk around town.

Weekday mornings are the calmest for the courtyard. Good for a relaxed, unhurried coffee with the dog.
