Lulu's Cafe is a long-standing local favourite on Dalley Street in Mullumbimby, set back from the main-street bustle behind a rustic courtyard. It is one of the more dog-welcoming cafes in town, and the shaded outdoor area makes it a spot to linger rather than grab and go.

Dogs are welcome in the outdoor courtyard, which is the comfortable choice for a visit with a dog: shaded, enclosed by the building lines and roomy enough for a dog to lie at your feet. Keep your dog on a lead while you are there. Staff are known to help out with a water top-up, but bringing your own bowl removes any doubt.

The cafe is regularly praised for its coffee and chai, and the menu is fresh, local and largely organic, leaning vegan and vegetarian. The shakshuka gets repeat mentions, and portions are generous. Hours run 7am to 3pm Monday to Friday with Saturday mornings from 9:30am to 2pm; Sundays are closed, so plan your dog-and-coffee run around the weekdays.

The cafe sits on Dalley Street in central Mullumbimby, with free street parking along Dalley Street and the surrounding side streets. The central position makes it an easy stop before or after a loop of the town, and Mullumbimby is an easy detour off the Pacific Highway for anyone travelling between Byron Bay and the Tweed.
