Little Mavros

Little Mavros is a small family-run cafe on the ground floor at 333 Police Road, Mulgrave, and the owners are dog people themselves, with their own dog a regular on the cafe's socials. Canine visitors get a warm reception, and the outdoor tables are where dogs settle in.

The dog setup

Dogs are welcome at the outdoor seating; the indoor tables are generally people only, so plan to sit outside and check with staff on arrival. Ask and they will usually sort out a water bowl. It is a compact corner cafe, so keep the lead tucked in close while others queue for coffee.

Worth knowing

The draw is consistent, well-made coffee alongside generous toasties, from ham and cheese through to chicken and vegetarian fillings, plus fresh cakes and the odd free cookie for regulars. This is a weekday spot: it opens 7:30am to 2:30pm Monday to Friday and closes on weekends, so a weekend trip needs a different plan. Mid-morning on a weekday gets you the calmest table with the full menu still available.

Getting there and parking

Parking is the easy part, with a dedicated lot plus street parking on Police Road, and the entrance is wheelchair accessible, so getting a slower or older dog inside the site is no drama.

Close by with the dogs
