Altitude Coffee House

Altitude Coffee House is a compact espresso bar at Shop 3, 48 Alfred Street South in Milsons Point, sitting almost directly opposite Milsons Point railway station at the northern foot of the Sydney Harbour Bridge. It is built for speed: a concise breakfast menu, espresso that locals rate among the best on the lower north shore, and footpath tables where dogs are welcome while you wait for the order.

The dog setup

Dogs on leads join you at the footpath tables along the street front, which is the designated outdoor seating. The premises are small, so indoor access is not on offer. This is a high-traffic footpath with constant pedestrian movement off the station and the bridge, so it suits settled, well-socialised dogs rather than reactive ones. There is no confirmed water bowl service, so bring your own. Off-peak hours are calmer; weekday mid-morning beats the commuter rush.

Worth knowing

The menu leans grab-and-go: bacon and egg rolls, bagels, avocado smash and banana bread, plus a short list of hot dishes that has included prawn pasta and tom yum. Hours run 6am to 4pm on weekdays and 7:30am to 2pm on weekends, with takeaway well suited to a fast pickup before the harbour walk. There is metered street parking on Alfred Street South and a Wilson Parking station at number 52.

Close by with the dogs

Bradfield Park is a few minutes' walk away, and the area under and around the Harbour Bridge includes a designated dog off-leash area. Under North Sydney Council rules, most parks and reserves are off-leash by default unless signed otherwise, with a 10 metre buffer from playgrounds and BBQ zones and dogs under effective control at all times.
