Middleton Brew

Middleton Brew is a small neighbourhood cafe on Hall Circuit in Middleton Grange, in south-west Sydney's Liverpool council area. It is a locals-first kind of place, rated close to five stars across its early reviews, and the outdoor seating out front is where the dog-owning half of the street does its coffee.

The dog setup

Dogs are welcome in the casual outdoor zones, and the setup suits walkers mid-circuit: order at the counter, take a front table, dog settled at your feet. Water is easy to come by in the outdoor area, though with a small shop and a quick turnover it pays to carry a bowl on hot mornings. Inside is off limits, as with any cafe kitchen.

Worth knowing

The coffee runs on Supreme blends and the menu leans on Italian-style focaccia sandwiches, with the mortadella focaccia the one people come back for. Brekky bowls, avo toast and acai bowls cover the morning trade, pastries and soft serve cover the rest. Hours are 7am to 2pm Monday to Friday and 8am to 3pm on weekends. New items and daily specials land on the cafe's Instagram, which doubles as its website.

Getting there and parking

This is a car-friendly, residential-pocket stop: street parking on Hall Circuit and the surrounding streets is generally uncomplicated. There is no meaningful public transport connection, so plan to drive.

Pair it with

Cirillo Reserve Fenced Dog Park is the suburb's off-lead spot, off Southern Cross Avenue, fully fenced with the usual rules: leash on to enter and leave, dogs supervised, no dogs on heat.
