A Place of Space Perth

A Place of Space is a husband-and-wife cafe on a semi-rural block at 1 Mokare Entrance, Mandogalup, looking over a small local lake well south of the Kwinana strip. It opens early, 6:30am on weekdays and 7:30am on weekends, and closes at 1pm every day, so it works as a morning stop rather than a lunch venue.

The dog setup

Dogs are welcome at the relaxed, sheltered outdoor seating overlooking the water, and water bowls are readily offered to visiting dogs. Puppacinos are on the menu alongside the human coffee list, which tells you how the regulars arrive. Keep your dog on a lead while you are seated, and bring a travel bowl if your dog drinks a lot, since the water supply depends on the day. The cafe has no website of its own, so confirm the dog policy directly if you are making a long drive.

Worth knowing

The menu covers barista coffee, iced mochas, hot chocolates and smoothies, plus breakfast plates, quick bites, house-made baked treats and brownies, with a handful of vegetarian-friendly dishes. The block is wheelchair accessible from the parking area through to the restrooms. Free parking is on site.

Getting there

Mokare Entrance sits off the paddock-edged streets between Kwinana and the freeway, a short drive from Anketell and Bertram. There is no strip shopping here and no street-parking puzzle, you simply pull in off the driveway.

Close by with the dogs

Two fenced off-lead options sit minutes away: Kimz Dog Park, a private park a couple of minutes up the road, and the Mandogalup Fenced Dog Park nearby. For a third option, Honeywood Park Fenced Dog Park in Wandi is a few minutes north.
