Tidal Café

Tidal Cafe sits on the riverfront boardwalk at the Launceston Seaport, at Unit 5/28 Seaport Boulevard, with outdoor tables looking straight over the Tamar. Breakfast and lunch run from 7am daily, and dogs are welcome at the outdoor seating by the water, which makes the cafe a natural coffee stop on a riverfront walk.

The dog setup

Dogs settle at the outdoor tables along the boardwalk, and the cafe is popular with walkers who time their Tamar stroll to finish here. There is no sign of a dedicated water bowl service, so bring your own on a warm day and give the staff a heads up when you arrive. Indoors stays for people, and the kids corner inside is a bonus if you have the family with you.

The vibe and the menu

The kitchen runs a classic Australian cafe menu: cooked breakfasts, smashed avo, eggs benedict and buttered scones in the morning, then the house BLAT, gourmet wraps and seasonal lunch mains. Specialty coffee, loose-leaf teas and an ice cream tub for the kids round it out, with vegetarian options across the board. Hours are 7am to 3pm weekdays and 7am to 4pm weekends, and the setting comes with free wifi and table service.

Getting there and parking

The Seaport sits just north of the Launceston CBD on Seaport Boulevard, and parking is spread around the precinct so you can usually find a spot within a short walk of the boardwalk. The entrance is wheelchair accessible.

Close by with the dogs

Across the river, the fenced runs at Lions Park and Windsor Park in Riverside give your dog a proper off-lead session before coffee, and Heritage Forest at Invermay is a big fenced option on the CBD side of the bridge.
