Koffee Corner

Koffee Corner is a compact coffee stop on St John Street in the middle of the Launceston CBD, running weekdays from 7:30am to 3pm and Saturday mornings until about 2:30pm. It is geared to a fast, good-quality coffee rather than a long brunch sit, and dogs join you at the footpath tables out front while you do it.

The dog setup

Dogs are welcome at the on-street outdoor seating directly in front of the cafe, leashed and tucked in close to the tables. The footpath area is small, so it works best for a settled dog who is comfortable with passers-by and city noise. Staff are friendly but do not run a water bowl out by default, so bring your own.

Worth knowing

The menu covers barista coffee, fresh juice and smoothies, plus toasties, sandwiches and muffins made with fresh ingredients. It is a quick-pause kind of place: order, take the footpath seats, and keep moving if the tables are full. Sunday is the one day it is closed, so plan a weekend visit for Saturday morning.

Max: this is a grab-a-flat-white stop, not a linger. If the two street tables are taken, get it to go and walk it to City Park.

Getting there

The address is 85 St John Street, right in the heart of the CBD between the Brisbane Street mall and Paterson Street. Metered on-street parking runs along St John Street and the surrounding blocks, and the Paterson Street West car park is the closest off-street option. Everything is flat and walkable from the city centre.

Close by with the dogs

City Park is a five to seven minute walk north for a shaded on-lead stroll and plenty of lawn. For another sit-down coffee stop, Aroma's Cafe has footpath seating at the Charles Street end of town, and Heritage Forest Fenced Dog Park in Invermay is a short drive for a proper off-lead run.
