Spill the Beans is a friendly local takeaway and cafe at Shop 5A, 10 Churchill Street, on the southern side of Ipswich in the heart of the medical precinct. The kitchen is built for quick, hearty food: loaded fries, burgers, wraps and a rotating Japanese curry are the regulars, along with the Top Dog hot dog piled with cheese kransky, bacon and crispy onion, and pulled chicken and gravy rolls. Barista coffee comes with it. Hours are weekday-only, 6am to 2:30pm, with the kitchen winding up around 2pm; the cafe is closed weekends and public holidays, which matters for anyone planning a Saturday visit.

Getting there and parking

Churchill Street sits just west of the Ipswich CBD, with street parking directly out front and in the surrounding blocks. Being inside the medical precinct means weekday foot traffic is steady but parking rarely becomes a scramble before mid-morning. Weekday early mornings are the best window, both for a table and for the walking-group atmosphere.

For an off-lead run before coffee, Wulkuraka Park Fenced Dog Park is a short drive west with shade, water taps and a fully fenced run. The quiet streets of Churchill suit a short on-lead loop either side of breakfast.
