Seed Coffee

Seed Coffee sits at 17/15 Limestone Street at the Midtown end of Ipswich, and the reason dog owners put it on their list is out the back: a shaded, sub-tropical garden courtyard where dogs are welcome on a lead. Locals rate the coffee among the best in town, and the kitchen leans towards bagels and healthier options, with sourdough toast, hash browns and a bacon sandwich covering the hearty end. Raw treats such as the peanut butter slice and Biscoff cookies sit in the cabinet, and there are gluten-free choices. Staff work quickly, which suits a dog who is only good for one table-sit.

Getting there and parking

Street parking runs along Limestone Street and the surrounding blocks, and the cafe is central enough to walk to from most of the CBD edge. Note the hours: it runs 7am to 1:30pm on weekdays and closes on weekends, so this is a breakfast-and-lunch-weekday stop, not a Saturday brunch.

Close by with the dogs

Queens Park is under a ten-minute walk away, and leashed dogs are welcome through its historic gardens and shaded walkways, though not inside the Ipswich Nature Centre or playground areas. If your dog needs a proper off-lead run, McSniff Dog Park and the North Ipswich Off Leash Dog Park are both a short drive over the river.
