DQ Coffee - Ipswich Cafe

DQ Coffee is a busy weekday cafe at 77 East Street in the Ipswich CBD, trading from early morning through mid-afternoon for the office crowd. For dog owners it does one useful thing well: the footpath tables out front are open to dogs, so you can keep the morning walk going without breaking for a caffeine stop.

The dog setup

Dogs are welcome at the outdoor footpath seating along East Street. Indoor seating is for service dogs only. Service is casual and dog-friendly, but water bowls are on request rather than automatic, so bring your own to be safe. The footpath sits right against the street, so keep your dog tucked in close to your table while the morning foot traffic passes.

The vibe and the menu

The menu leans all-day breakfast and steak sandwiches, with coffee poured from Somerset beans. Hours are 6am to 4pm Monday to Friday, and the doors stay shut on weekends, which makes this a weekday-only stop by definition.

Getting there and parking

It is in the middle of the CBD on East Street. Free street parking exists nearby but competes hard during business hours, so a side street off Brisbane Street or a CBD car park is usually the easier option. Come earlier rather than later given the 4pm close.

Close by with the dogs

Queens Park and its gardens are a short walk from the cafe for an on-leash stretch. For a proper off-leash run, McSniff Dog Park and the Off Leash Dog Park at North Ipswich are both across the Bremer, and Brassall dog park is the option further out if you are heading home that way.
