McSniff Dog Park

McSniff Dog Park is a fully fenced off-leash dog park at 27 Fitzgibbon Street in North Ipswich, sitting on the Bremer River bank near the Cribb Park boat ramp. The secure perimeter fencing is the reason to come: dogs can run flat out without a river, road or car park in reach.

The dog setup

Inside the enclosure it is open green space with trees for shade and seating where you can sit and supervise. A drinking water station is provided for dogs, and waste bag dispensers and bins are on site, though bringing your own bags is a sensible backup.

Dogs must stay on leash in the signed parking and walkway areas until you are through the gate. Once inside, you need to remain in the park and keep visual and voice control, and any dog showing aggressive behaviour is expected to be leashed and removed immediately.

The vibe

Weekday mornings and early afternoons are the quietest sessions, while the park builds steadily from late afternoon on weekdays and across weekend mornings. If your dog prefers space over company, aim for mid-week.

The park sits low beside the river, and the ground can turn waterlogged after heavy rain. It pays to check local flood advice before you set out and to have a quick look at the surface before unclipping.

Getting there

Drive in via Fitzgibbon Street off River Street, with parking near the park entrance. Council bus routes service North Ipswich, and you can also walk in along the footpath network that follows the Bremer River bank.

Make a day of it

Cribb Park itself adds boat ramp access, picnic tables and a playground if you are making a morning of it. For a second off-leash session, the Off Leash Dog Park North Ipswich is close by.

Afterwards, grab coffee at DQ Coffee - Ipswich Cafe or Cafe Tulmur, both a short drive into the CBD with outdoor seating for leashed dogs.
