BeastieMonk is a part-cafe, part-vintage store at 2 East Street on the edge of the Ipswich CBD, and it actively welcomes dogs in its outdoor and courtyard seating. Coffee comes with a side of vintage clothing, plants, gifts and board games, which makes it as much a browse as a brew.

Expect an eclectic, slow-paced space that works as a community hangout as much as a cafe, with a relaxed street-side feel, quality coffee and cake, and staff happy to chat. Hours are limited: Friday evenings from 4:30pm to 8:30pm, then Saturday and Sunday 8am to 3pm, and the venue is closed Monday to Thursday, so check before you go.

It suits a chilled dog that is content to lounge while you work through the racks, and the mix of retail and seating keeps things casual rather than restaurant-formal.
